Basic Class

~~This slow moving, deep exploratory class provides the student with the underlying basics while practicing asanas (physical poses). This basic yoga practice focuses on aligning one’s breath and spiritual intention with movement. The class follows a sequence of asanas but is presented at a slower, more relaxed pace than in the All Levels Class. There is some focus on basic body alignment; however, the main emphasis is on breathing (while holding asanas) as well as on transitioning into and out of asanas gracefully and safely. Basic yoga classes provide a good transition for a beginner student from basic classes to slow flow and all levels classes.  The class also provides an opportunity for the  more advanced student to refine his or her skills. Through detailed exploration of the asanas presented and by learning how they can seamlessly flow together, by means of steady paced ujjayi  breathing, a strong yoga foundation can be built.  This class is suitable for beginners, but open to all levels of practitioners.  **All basic classes are practiced in a non-heated, regular temperature room.**
